Jonathon George

Senior Associate

Jon (“JG”) is an investor on the team at Flare Capital and brings eight years of experience across healthcare strategy, operations, and venture capital.

Jon is an investor at Flare Capital, where he focuses on the intersection of care delivery and AI, ML, and emerging technologies. He serves as both a Board Observer and deal team member for several portfolio companies, supporting companies like Isaac Health, Layer Health, Cohere Health, and more. Jon was previously a Flare Scholar in 2022, where he co-authored a series on the future of cancer care.

Prior to Flare Capital, Jon’s background spans venture investing, healthcare operations, and management consulting. He worked at OCA Ventures and Wittington Ventures, where he focused on digital health investing, and also spent time in Mayo Clinic’s Oncology Division. Earlier in his career, he worked at Chartis, advising leading health systems on enterprise strategy and operations, with clients including Beth Israel Lahey Health, Northwestern Medicine, Virginia Mason, Children’s Health Dallas, WellSpan Health, Johns Hopkins, and UT Southwestern. He began his career at Strategy& in the private equity group, where he covered both healthcare and technology.

Jon currently serves as a startup coach for Techstars, CancerX, and Children’s National Hospital. He previously served on the boards of the Lurie Children’s Research Fund, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, and Comer Children’s Pediatric Cancer Board.

Jon earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management as a Harry Brown Scholar, where he helped co-develop the school’s digital health curriculum alongside the Executive Director of Healthcare. He received his Bachelor of Science with Honors from Penn State University.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys playing soccer (competed nationally for 15+ years), hiking (highly recommend the Pacific Northwest!), skiing, snowboarding, and generally exploring the outdoors.
