William “Billy” Greineisen, Ph.D. is Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Cox Enterprises – a privately held, 4thgeneration family-owned company, generating $20B in yearly revenue.
In his current role, he helps lead one the company’s diversification efforts (health care) as Cox continues to search for ways to make a meaningful impact and to leave the world a better place.
Billy started his career in academia as a research scientist and clinical anatomy instructor with his peer-reviewed publications centered around dysregulated inflammatory pathways that develop in metabolically-driven chronic disease states. He is a distinguished researcher of the International Congress on Obesity and a recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Innovation Award. Moreover, Billy is a serial entrepreneur, a Techstars company co-founder, part of Verily’s Project Baseline study, and an advisor to end-of-life non-profit, Endwell.
In addition to holding numerous operational leadership roles at the largest US-based health clubs, Billy also served as a highly-specialized health concierge for nearly a decade. Here, he addressed the health needs of thousands of internationally-based clients – working with everything from professional actors, athletes and world champion para-athletes, to rehabilitating veterans and the complex chronically ill – and consulted with brands such as NBCUniversal and The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
Billy earned his B.S. in Pre-Medical Studies from Hawaii Pacific University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of Hawaii.Back To Team
