Poorwa is a first-year MBA student at The Wharton School majoring in Health Care Management.
At school, Poorwa is a Lipman Fellow, where she works with other students to evaluate and award funding to innovative non-profits around the world. She is a VP of Digital Health Club, a writer for The Pulse – Wharton’s Health Care Business Conference blog, and a choreographer for the annual Dance Studio show.
Prior to Wharton, Poorwa worked on the Health and Life Sciences team at Gates Ventures, the private office of Bill Gates. There she helped develop Mr. Gates’ healthcare learning agenda and execute the office’s venture philanthropy work on Alzheimer’s Disease. Before joining Gates Ventures, Poorwa worked at McKinsey & Company, where she spent most of her time serving large national health systems. Her projects included designing tools for measuring patient access and satisfaction in primary care clinics, improving quality, experience, and workflow in outpatient clinics, streamlining hospital operations, and re-designing payor negotiation strategies.
Poorwa graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics. She enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, New York Times crosswords, and Orangetheory Fitness.Back To Team
