Kaitlin Hildreth

Kaitlin (“Katie”) Hildreth is a second year dual MPH/MBA graduate student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

Katie is in the Health, Technology and Innovation pathway and she is interested in implementing reimagined healthcare delivery systems and incentivizing strategic behavior change. Katie is writing her thesis on the Hospital at Home movement examining how game theory and economic feasibility may alter executive decision making around program initiation, implementation, and scalability.

Katie started her career as a pediatric registered nurse trained out of Boston Children’s Hospital. Katie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College. She started in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children’s and expanded as a travel nurse at Rady Children’s in their CICU, PICU and ED in San Diego. Katie returned to Boston and continued her bedside career gaining experience in trauma, orthopedics, and solid organ transplant.

Most recently, Katie worked for Shields at Home, a portfolio company of Shield’s Health Innovations, as they launched their first Hospital at Home program. Katie currently does due diligence on healthcare startups for Riptide Ventures, a Baltimore-based network powered angel syndicate established mid-2021. The syndicate leverages over 450 members and to date has deployed $10M into 14 deals, 4 of which already have follow-on financings at higher valuations.

Above all, Katie is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She loves to hike, bike, and swim – anything with a little friendly competition – you should meet her family! She played soccer at Boston College and is a two-time Boston Marathon runner.
