Gerard Heath

Gerard is an emergency medicine resident physician at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan who has spent much of the past year taking care of patients with COVID-19 in the emergency department and intensive care units.

Prior to residency, he completed his MD/MBA dual-degree at the University of Michigan and served as the Director of Investments for the Wolverine Venture Fund, a student-run VC investing primarily in early-stage healthcare companies. In addition to his current role as a resident physician, Gerard has been serving on the board of directors at American Indian Health and Family Services, an urban Indian Health Service clinic in Detroit, for the past five years and is a member of the Association of American Indian Physicians. He received his undergraduate degree in environmental studies from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, during which time he lived on the Nez Perce tribal reservation studying grey wolves and the reintroduction efforts in the northern Rocky Mountains.
