Nicholas Speller

Nicholas is a medical student at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he is passionate about technology innovation and entrepreneurship that transforms healthcare on the global scale. Prior to medical school, he was a senior research scientist in the DOD sector. As a PhD trained analytical chemist, he has spent the last decade working on development and fabrication of portable prototypes including microfluidics, medical diagnostics, chemical sensors, and automated analytical tools. He was a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow who developed microfluidic devices for various astrobiology related applications and conducted graduate studies in sensor array design for identification and discrimination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In May 2024, he completed his MBA with a concentration in Technology Innovation Generating Economic Results (TI:GER). Nicholas earned his BS in Biology and Chemistry from Morehouse College. He earned his PhD from Louisiana State University where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and earned his MBA from the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he had the opportunity to work with early-stage healthcare start-ups.
