Nathan Paulsen

Nate is a Director of Virtual Care Product Strategy for UHC’s commercial business where he leads the UHC strategy for the consumerization of healthcare. Much of his role focuses on identifying and contracting high value emerging virtual care delivery models and remote care enablement technologies (remote patient monitoring, home labs, digital diagnostics/therapeutics, and AI supported care). Other responsibilities involve redesigning benefits to enable “tomorrow’s” healthcare system. His function brings together the payer’s clinical, network, benefits, and legal teams to select these services and ensure they increase access, improve outcomes while decreasing cost, and elevate the experiences of UHC’s members. Before this, he spent much of his career at Optum consulting where he gained extensive experience working in Medicare, Medicaid, payer and provider environments and built out virtual care delivery organizations.

Nate received his MBA from Chicago Booth and his undergraduate degree in International Business from Gustavus Adolphus College. He resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
