Michiel van Zyl
Michiel is a first year MBA candidate at The Wharton School in the Health Care Management program. He is a credentialed healthcare actuary with extensive experience in forecasting, piloting, and ROI analysis. As an actuary, Michiel focused on how payers partner with startups and other healthcare delivery organizations to improve quality and reduce the cost of care. He has leveraged implementation science and analytics to test, improve, and scale interventions. Additionally, Michiel worked as a Payment Innovation Director at Elevance. Within this role, he designed Commercial and Medicare value-based care programs to help primary care providers take on risk. During school, he is interested in primary care innovation, value-based care, and digital health. During his free time, Michiel likes to stay active by playing tennis, going skiing or scuba diving, and traveling.
