Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University

Lawrence Huang is a rising fourth year year medical student at Brown University. He has long been interested in the intersection of healthcare and technology, completing undergraduate studies in computer science as a part of Brown’s combined BS/MD program. Along the way, he explored research on augmented reality, bioinformatics, clinical algorithms, and environmental health. After graduating, he worked as a software engineer for a revenue cycle management startup and Verily. In medical school, Lawrence has become interested in primary care and the ways that technology can support clinical excellence. Alongside clinical studies, he has served as an Epic builder for a recent go-live, an analyst with Brown’s patent office, and a leader within MD+, a national medical student innovation network. He plans to pursue a residency in primary care and integrate his interests as a clinician-technologist. Lawrence enjoys playing basketball, cycling, reading, and traveling in his free time.
