Dr. Kelly Ko currently serves as Vice President of Technology Ventures and Innovation for Banner Healthcare, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the country. At Banner Dr. Ko is responsible for driving transformative change by identifying, developing, and integrating innovative technologies, managing investments, and fostering strategic partnerships.
Over the course of his career Dr. Ko has served in a variety of leadership positions spanning industry, health systems, academia, and government. His work focuses on the intersection of technology, data, and digital health for early adoption or co-creation with an emphasis on strategic partnerships, revenue diversification, and commercialization opportunities.
Prior to joining Banner Health, Dr. Ko served as Vice President of innovation and strategic initiatives at Sharp HealthCare, and Director of clinical research for West Health Institute, in addition to working for Oracle / Cerner in several roles leading research services.
Before his work in healthcare technology, his early academic research focused on psychosocial aspects of healthy aging. Dr. Ko maintains an active publication record and continues to serve on a variety of review panels and advisory boards.
Dr. Ko holds an MS and PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Utah.
