Janet is a first year MBA student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business passionate about unlocking access to high quality primary care through innovation. She currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer for Medicare at Aetna and spends her time as a part time MBA Asssociate at M25, a Midwest technology-focused venture capital fund. She will be joining healthcare growth equity firm Hughes and Company as a part time intern in the spring.
Prior to Booth, she spent 3.5 years at Oak Street Health, most recently as a Director of Population Health. During her time at OSH, she built, scaled, and managed their Transitions of Care program, including managing a 30 person front-line team. She also took ownership of their Post Acute program, and designed and launched a new care model in partnership with CVS Health and Aetna. She also served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer to build the enterprise-wide health equity strategy, which included spearheading the capture of patient Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) data.
Before Oak Street, Janet spent two years as a healthcare consultant at Sg2, advising health system executives on their business strategy. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Yale School of Public Health and a BA in International Relations and Global Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. On the weekends, you’ll find Janet hosting dinner parties, adding more restaurants to her never-ending Google maps, doing HIIT workouts, or hammocking along Chicago’s lakefront.
