Erica Stutz

Erica Stutz is a second-year Ph.D. student in Computational Biology and Biomedical Informatics at Yale University, with interests at the intersection of healthcare, business, and technology. Her research focuses on developing novel methods to improve the efficiency, precision, and explainability of AI foundation models to support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes. At Yale, she works as a Student Associate for Yale Ventures, where she supports the HealthTech Works accelerator through back-end data management and generation of data-driven insights. Prior to pursuing a PhD, Erica graduated from Swarthmore College with a double major in Computer Science and Economics. Her interdisciplinary interests led her to conduct research at the University of Southern California, Harvard Medical School, and Swarthmore, and gain industry experience as a Technology Consulting intern at Ernst & Young. In her free time, Erica is an avid tennis player, part-time coach, and former captain of Swarthmore’s tennis team.
