Ellen Coombe

Harvard Business School

Ellen is passionate about spurring innovation in traditionally underinvested areas of healthcare. Now in her second year at Harvard Business School, she leads Entrepreneurship and Mental Health for the Healthcare Club. She spent her MBA summer with Flare, working on both investing and NewCo incubation. Specifically, Ellen prepared Flare’s incubated hospital-at-home company Inbound Health to fundraise a $20M+ Series A. She continued to support both the investment team and Inbound during the fall semester. Prior to HBS, Ellen spent four years in McKinsey’s healthcare practice. She worked on transformations across the payer (primarily Medicaid), provider, and pharma practices before leading behavioral health and health equity thought leadership at the McKinsey Health Institute (fka the Center for Societal Benefit through Healthcare). Ellen holds a B.A. in Political Science and Art History from Williams College. She enjoys playing squash and tennis, scuba diving, and adding themes to any event.
