Dr. Angelica Herrera is an Associate Strategic Product Manager with the Digital Solutions team at UPMC Enterprises, where she focuses on evaluating and advancing digital health investment opportunities. Dr. Herrera is responsible for conducting system-wide assessments to identify high-value solutions that align with UPMC’s strategic priorities and drive meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery.
With a strong foundation in research and clinical translation, Dr. Herrera bridges the gap between cutting-edge technology and healthcare. As a National Science Foundation GRFP Fellow, she earned her PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where she developed innovative neurotechnology enabling individuals with tetraplegia to control assistive devices through imagined movements. During her PhD, she interned at Meta Reality Labs, advancing EMG wearables for virtual interfaces and gaining insights into large-scale commercialization of emerging technologies. Following her PhD, Dr. Herrera transitioned into a leadership role as VP of Development at Reach Neuro, where she led the commercialization of neuromodulation technology for stroke rehabilitation.
Dr. Herrera is passionate about leveraging technology to address healthcare’s most pressing challenges, guiding UPMC’s digital health initiatives to create impactful, patient-centered solutions.
