Sara is a Senior Associate at Flare Capital Partners, where she focuses on investing in and supporting companies transforming healthcare’s operating system with software, data, and AI.
Prior to joining Flare Capital, Sara led AI strategy initiatives at Harvard Medical School, helping the university navigate how emerging technologies could be responsibly and effectively integrated into clinical and academic settings. Before Harvard, Sara spent nearly five years at PathAI, a Boston-based digital pathology company, where she led data engineering before moving into business strategy and biopharma partnerships. These experiences have given her firsthand perspective on the technical, clinical, and commercial challenges involved in bringing AI-powered healthcare products to market.
Sara is also active in the broader Boston technology and healthcare ecosystem. She leads partnerships and sponsorships for the Massachusetts AI Coalition, a private-sector initiative working to strengthen Massachusetts’ AI ecosystem and establish Boston as a global leader in AI.
Sara earned her MBA from MIT Sloan and her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Colby College, where she focused additional coursework on healthcare.
Originally from Maine, Sara is an avid swimmer and skier. When she is not on the water or the slopes, you will likely find her working through the NYT Games, trying a new recipe, or several hours into a good book.
