Akash Parekh

Akash Parekh is an MBA candidate at the Wharton School and a practicing Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Boston University Medical Center, the largest safety-net hospital in New England. In addition to his clinical role, Akash is a co-founder at LinkMD, an AI-enabled co-pilot designed to streamline revenue cycle management and prior authorizations to reduce healthcare inefficiencies. Before pursuing his MBA, Akash served as a Medical Officer at the FDA, where he evaluated investigational and new drug applications for oncology therapeutics. He also worked as a consultant with Thyme Care, a venture-backed oncology startup focused on value-based care. Akash has authored over two dozen high-impact publications on clinical outcomes, radiation resistance, and healthcare delivery. Passionate about leveraging technology to bridge gaps in clinical care and improve outcomes for underserved populations, he has also advised several healthtech startups committed to making healthcare more accessible and equitable. Akash earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago, where he was a full-tuition merit scholar, and his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. Originally from Florida, Akash is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati. Outside of work and school, he enjoys skiing, lifting, international travel, and all things Taylor Swift.
