Leila is currently pursuing a dual MPP-MBA degree at Harvard Kennedy School and Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Zuckerman Fellow. Committed to advocating for her community, Leila completed five political internships during her undergraduate career across local government and Capitol Hill, spanning the US House of Representatives, the US Senate, and two national campaign committees. After earning degrees in Economics and International Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park, Leila served as a Design & Innovation Consultant in Deloitte’s Life Sciences & Healthcare practice. Throughout the pandemic, she advised COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers, leading a diverse array of projects intersecting advanced analytics, ethics, and human-centered design. Additionally, while at Deloitte, Leila drove multiple pro bono engagements for the Deloitte Health Equity Institute, developing strategies for leading public health nonprofits such as Partners In Health US and United Way Worldwide.
In her community, she provides local hospice care and supports local initiatives for her home county’s health department. She aims to leverage her dual degree to drive cross-sector collaboration across the public, private, and social sectors, galvanizing novel solutions across the fragmented US healthcare system. In her free time, Leila enjoys painting, stand-up comedy, and backpacking trails across the Rockies, Appalachian Trail, and Peru’s Inca Trek.
